ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER

Fast growing St. Louis based General Contractor seeking an organized, dedicated Assistant Project Manager. We are seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support projects and be instrumental in the company's continued growth and success. A key member of the team, this role is responsible for the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • CONSTRUCTION PROJECT SUPPORT: Provide support to the project staff to ensure quality and timely execution of design/build projects from design to completion. These phases include: scheduling, subcontractor buyout, cost reporting, preparation of subcontracts, the handling of owner coordination, construction quality oversight, and project closeout.
  • ADMINISTRATIVE: Support all administrative aspects of the construction process as directed by the Project Manager. Set up initial paperwork flow, solicit bids and ensure bids are received on time, determine the scope and scheduling of the project, draft subcontract agreements and purchase orders for review. Assist with a timely submittal process, review, and execution of project changes by the owner and trade contractors. Manage project files. Assist with the development and delivery of job progress reports.
  • PROJECT OVERSIGHT: Assist with the monitoring of project schedules by providing input for problem resolution and schedule revisions. Work with the Superintendent in updating the detailed construction schedule. Be onsite as-needed. Help manage progress billing by maintaining contact with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • RELATIONSHIP DEVELOPMENT: In all communication, develop strong relationships with the MC Hotel team, including staff, clients, sub-contractors, and more. Build trust throughout these interactions while exceeding client and team satisfaction.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • 2-5 years of experience in a commercial construction or engineering-related position.
  • Construction-related Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Exceptional work ethic with a desire to complete tasks on schedule with excellence.
  • Must be willing to travel (project-oriented), sometimes with short notice (40-50% travel anticipated).
  • Flexible and willing to make difficult decisions quickly.
  • Bright, confident self-starter with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously with attention to deadlines.
  • Familiarity with project management and accounting software preferred (CMiC Cloud competency preferred).
  • Highly proficient with computers, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
